MSBBN: You Cannot Connect to Your MN500 Base Station with a Non-Microsoft Wireless Network Adapter
SYMPTOMS
When you try to connect to your Microsoft Base Station by using a non-Microsoft wireless network adapter, you may experience one or more of the following behaviors:
- You cannot access Internet, e-mail, or network resources.
- You cannot configure your wireless network adapter by using the Microsoft Broadband Network Utility (BNU).
- The lights on your wireless network adapter do not turn on.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur when your wireless network adapter has an on/off switch that must be turned on, but the switch is not turned on. This switch may be a function key combination that you must press to turn on integrated wireless adapters on a laptop computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, turn your wireless adapter on. Examine your wireless adapter for a physical on/off switch. If you have an integrated wireless adapter, see your product documentation to see if there is a function key to turn your wireless adapter on.
APPLIES TO

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
