Microsoft Project 2002 crashes when you open a project file

SYMPTOMS
When you try to open a Project file or plan by using Project
Professional 2002, the program may abruptly quit or "crash". You may also
receive the following error message:
Microsoft Project
has encountered a problem and needs to close.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the Project file or plan contains
the following
Enterprise Resource Outline Code (EROC) option
and the option is turned on:
Only allow selection of codes with no
subordinate codes.
RESOLUTION
How to obtain the hotfix
