Description of Office Binder support with Office 2003 and Office XP products

SUMMARY

Office Binder is included with Microsoft Office 95, Microsoft Office 97, and Microsoft Office 2000. You can use Office Binder to tie Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Excel worksheets, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Project files, and Microsoft Visio files together in one file without having to load separate programs.

Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office XP do not include Office Binder. This article describes the supportability of Office Binder with the Office 2003 and the Office XP products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft will continue to support Office Binder functionality in Office 2000 based on the existing Office 2000 Support Lifecycle. For more information about the Office 2000 Support Lifecycle policy, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;lifeOffice (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;lifeoffice)
Microsoft support of Office Binder functionality in an Office 2003 and an Office XP environment will extend only to those errors that Microsoft can reproduce in an Office 2000 environment and will not occur on a standardized lifecycle. Support for Office Binder functionality in an Office 2003 and an Office XP environment will include Office Binder usage only and will not include individual installation issues that are caused by operating systems.

In Office 2003 and XP, the UNBIND Facility can be used to open Binder files. Now Binder is discontinued, the best we can use is a .ZIP File. Anybody know of an alternative?
