Application Center 2000 User Interface May Break After You Change the Port on the Administrative Web Site
On This Page
SYMPTOMS
The Application Center 2000 user interface may not work correctly if the
port for the Application Center 2000 administrative
Web site is changed.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the
Port property is cached. By default, this property is set to 4242.
RESOLUTION
To resolve the issue, flush the cached property by stopping
and restarting the Application Center Administration service. When the service
is restarted, the stored property value is flushed and the new value is read
from the Internet Information Services (IIS) metabase.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
Steps to Reproduce the Behavior
- In the IIS Microsoft Management Console (MMC), right-click
the Application Center 2000 Administration Web site, and then click
Properties.
- Change the value in the TCP Port text box
to 4245, and then click OK.
- Open the Web user interface for Application Center. Note
that some of the pages may not be available.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Application Center 2000 Standard Edition
- Microsoft Application Center 2000 Service Pack 2

not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
