You cannot forward a fax to another fax recipient in the 2007 Office suites or in Office 2003

SYMPTOMS

You cannot forward an already sent fax document to another recipient in the 2007 Microsoft Office system or in Microsoft Office 2003. Your only choice is to send the document as a fax again either as a Recipient through a Fax Modem or as a Recipient using Internet Fax Service, and re-enter all the necessary information for faxing the document to the new recipient.

Note Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) is not installed by default in the 2007 Office suites. MODI is available if you customize your 2007 Office installation under Office Tools in Setup.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the fax information (the fax ticket that is attached to the fax by your Fax Service Provider) that was used to originally send the message has been used already and is no longer valid.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior you have to use the Microsoft Office Document Imaging program to send the FaxImage.tif file that was created when you first sent your fax. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the .TIF image file that is attached to the fax mail in Outlook, and then click Open.
  2. On the File menu, point to Send to, and then click Recipient using Internet Fax.
  3. If the original fax has a cover sheet, click to clear the Cover sheet check box in the Fax Service pane.

Otherwise, fill out the cover sheet as appropriate.
  4. Enter the fax number of the recipient, and then click Send.

STATUS

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back. Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other.
