"Object Is Busy" Error Message When an Automatic Virus Scanner Is Enabled

SYMPTOMS

You may see the following error in the event log of a member server in an Application Center 2000 cluster when an automatic virus scanner is enabled:

Event ID: 5056
Source: Application Center
Description: The requested object <file path> is busy during session <session ID> and job <JobID>.
Status is 0x80070020
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

CAUSE

Automatic virus scanners may detect that a replicated file has been created in the $ACSREPL$\ directories and may briefly block access to the file. This can cause Application Center 2000 replication to be unsuccessful.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, disable automatic virus scanning on $ACSREPL$ and all its subdirectories.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Application Center 2000 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Application Center 2000 Service Pack 2

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back. Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry edits), please consult a professional.
