SYMPTOMS

When you install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0.3705 Service Pack 2 (SP2), you may receive the following error message:
The Feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if some registry information is missing or if some files have been corrupted from the original installation of the .NET Framework.

RESOLUTION

Before you try to manually remove the .NET Framework 1.0.3705, Microsoft recommends that you try to use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to remove the .NET Framework 1.0.3705, if the .NET Framework 1.0.3705 is listed as an installed item.

Note Add/Remove Programs may list the .NET Framework 1.0.3705 as an installed item, but when you try to remove the program, the operation fails and you receive the following error message:
Setup cannot uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework v1.0.3705 because it is not installed

Manually Remove the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0.3705

If the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0.3705 is corrupted and is not listed in Add/Remove Programs, or if Add/Remove Programs does not correctly remove the .NET Framework 1.0.3705, you must manually remove the .NET Framework 1.0.3705.

For more information about manually removing the .NET Framework, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Net Framwork was corrupted and would not uninstall. Newest patch failed. Even a manual uninstall failed. Microsoft has the answer, an uninstaller that works and links to the needed files for a complete installation. Email me if you need help with this. Rat47
