SYMPTOMS

When you install a Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) for Microsoft Project 2002, the language that corresponds to the Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) that you are installing is shown as already being installed when it has not been previously installed for Microsoft Project.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if you have installed the Microsoft Office XP Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) for the language that corresponds to the Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) that you are installing.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use command line parameter

If you are installing the Microsoft Project 2002 Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) directly from the CD-ROM, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type drive\LPKSETUP.EXE LPKPRODUCTCODE={903C0409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}(where drive represents the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive), and then click OK.

Method 2: Modify the LPKSetup.ini file

If you have created a network setup point for the Microsoft Project 2002 Multilingual User Interface Pack CDs, you can modify the LPKSetup.ini file.

To modify the LPKSetup.ini file, follow these steps:
  1. Use a text editor like Notepad to open the LPKSetup.ini file from your Microsoft Project 2002 Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI).

    The LPKSetup.ini file is located in the Files\Setup subfolder of the CD location so if your network location is \\server\share\projLPK, the LPKSetup.ini file will be found at \\server\share\projLPK\Files\Setup.
  2. In the [Options] section of the LPKSetup.ini file, type the following text on a new line:
    LPKPRODUCTCODE={903C0409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}
  3. Save and close the LPKSetup.ini file.

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions.
