Reader: How to Transfer E-books to Your Pocket PC
This article was previously published under Q317395
This article describes how to transfer e-book files from
your computer to your Pocket PC.
The download process is handled by
Microsoft Internet Explorer or other browsers and they do not recognize the
Pocket device. Therefore, they do not download them to your Pocket PC. If you
want to read e-books on your Pocket PC, you need to manually transfer them to
your Pocket PC.
NOTE: Please ensure that you activate Reader 2.0 on your Pocket PC
before you attempt to follow these steps. To activate Reader on your Pocket PC,
see the following Microsoft Web site:
http://das.microsoft.com/activate/en-us/default.asp?
- Establish a connection between your computer and Pocket
PC.
- Start Microsoft ActiveSync, and then click Explore to display the contents of the Pocket PC.
- Double-click My Pocket PC, and then double-click My Documents.
- Click and drag the downloaded .lit files (Reader e-Books)
from your desktop to the My Documents folder on your Pocket PC.
- When the synchronization process is finished, remove the
Pocket PC device from the cradle, and then start Microsoft Reader. To start
Microsoft Reader, follow these steps:
- Start the Pocket PC device.
- Tap Start, tap Programs, and then tap Microsoft Reader.
- If the transferred books do not appear in the Library list, tap Library at the bottom of the screen to refresh the list.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
