FIX: Application Center 2000 COM+ Load Balancing Fails If COM+ Server Name Is 15 Characters
This article was previously published under Q304221
SYMPTOMS
If you add a computer with a 15-character computer name to the Component Servers (routing) list the name will appear in the list, but you will not be able to route COM+ object instantiations to that server. There are no error messages or events associated with this problem.
CAUSE
COM+ load balancing (CLB) is doing a call to GetServerName using MAX_COMPUTER_NAME instead of MAX_COMPUTER_NAME+1 so the computer name returned is one character short.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, either:
- Install Application Center 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1).For additional information, click the article number below
