Visio2002: Graphic File Format Is Not Maintained When You Paste an Image from Visio to Clip Organizer

This article was previously published under Q296940

SYMPTOMS

When you drag or paste a picture from Microsoft Visio into Microsoft Clip Organizer, the image may be inserted into Clip Organizer in a graphic file format that is different from the original file format.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, add clips to Clip Organizer from the original file instead of by using the Clipboard or by dragging them. To add clips to Clip Organizer, follow these steps:
  1. Start Visio.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  3. In the Insert Clip Art task pane, click the Clip Organizer link.

    This starts Clip Organizer.
  4. On the File menu in Clip Organizer, point to Add Clips to Organizer, and then click On My Own.
  5. Locate the folder that contains the images that you want to add, and then select the clip or clips that you want.
  6. Click Add to complete the task.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional Edition
  • Microsoft Clip Organizer 2002
