Organization chart has opaque background after conversion from PowerPoint 2000 to PowerPoint 2002 or PowerPoint 2003
This article was previously published under Q293210
SYMPTOMS
When you convert an organization chart in a presentation that was created in Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, the colors of the text boxes, borders, lines, and background revert to the default colors of the organization chart object. However, the background fill color is not transparent, as expected. It is an opaque color.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if you applied a color scheme to the presentation in PowerPoint 2000 before creating the organization chart object. As a result, the organization chart object uses the background color of the scheme as its background color. The organization chart's background remains transparent in the slide until it is converted.
WORKAROUND
To make the organization chart's background transparent, follow these steps:
- Click the organization chart, and then click Organization Chart on the Format menu.
- In the Format Organization Chart dialog box, on the Colors and Lines tab, under Fill, click the arrow to the right of the Color box, and then click No Fill. Click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
