The amount of disk space required to install Microsoft Office XP is based on several factors, including the following:
- The version of Microsoft Windows that your computer is using
- Whether the System Files Update needs to be installed
- The versions of Windows components installed, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Data Access Components
- Whether an earlier version of Office is installed on your computer
- The type of file system being used (for example, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS)
- The components that you are installing
