FIX: The Svchost.exe process leaks memory when you use CLB and if servers are under a heavy load
This article was previously published under Q287512
SYMPTOMS
If you are running Microsoft Application Center 2000 Component Load
Balancing (CLB), and if the servers are under a heavy load, a memory
leak may occur in the Svchost.exe process that hosts the Windows Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service (Rpcss.dll).
Svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that are run from dynamic-link libraries (DLLs).
CAUSE
This problem occurs because CLB is not freeing security
credentials when the
AcquireCredentialsForClient function does not work
on some code paths.
