PPT2002: Cannot Run Pack and Go Wizard on Password-Protected Presentation
This article was previously published under Q285484
SYMPTOMS
If you run the Pack and Go Wizard on a presentation that has the Modify password set, when you click
Finish to start packing the presentation, a dialog box with the following message appears
Password
'presentation name' is reserved by username
Enter password to modify, or open read only.
where
presentation name is the name of the presentation you are trying to pack and
username is the user name of the person who protected the presentation.
If you click
Read Only, the following error message appears:
PowerPoint can't create a copy of the
presentation. The disk may be full.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you attempt to run the Pack and Go Wizard on a file that contains a password in the
Password to modify box on the
Security tab of the
Options dialog box. To run the Pack and Go Wizard on password-protected files, you must have permissions to modify those files.
RESOLUTION
To run the Pack and Go Wizard on a password-protected file, type the correct password when prompted by the
Password dialog box described in the "SYMPTOMS" portion of this article.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
