Internet Explorer Missing Full Screen Window Options
This article was previously published under Q236361
When you try to configure Internet Explorer to start in Full Screen mode on the Advanced tab of the Internet Options tool, the following options are missing:
- Launch Channels in full screen window
- Launch browser in full screen window
This behavior occurs because these options are no longer available in Internet Explorer 5.
NOTE: Internet Explorer 5 starts in Full Screen mode if you quit the previous session of Internet Explorer while you were in Full Screen mode.
To resolve this issue, configure Internet Explorer for Full Screen mode, and then close it. For information about how to configure Internet Explorer for Full Screen mode, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

How to Configure Internet Explorer 5 for Full Screen Mode
This behavior is by design.
Internet Explorer 5 no longer uses either of the Full Screen mode options that were available in Internet Explorer 4.x. When you start Internet Explorer, it retains the state of the last Internet Explorer window that you closed.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
