SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), you may receive the following Stop error message when a user prints some documents:
STOP 0x00000050 (parameter1, 0, parameter3, parameter4) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Note
  • The parameters in this Stop error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
  • Not all "0x00000050" Stop error messages are caused by this problem.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Win32k.sys driver exceeds an allocated buffer limit. Therefore, you receive the Stop error message.
