Plus! 98: Disk Cleanup Utility Does Not Delete All Files
This article was previously published under Q191853
When you run the Disk Cleanup utility included in Plus! 98, and you
choose to delete Temporary Internet Files or Downloaded Program Files,
some of these files may not be deleted.
The Disk Cleanup utility deletes only those files that it determines
are safe to be deleted. Disk Cleanup does not delete ActiveX controls,
Java applets, or cookies.
To delete files left on your hard disk by Disk Cleanup, follow these
steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Plus! 98,
and then click Disk Cleanup.
- Click the hard disk containing the files you want to delete,
and then click OK.
- In the Files To Delete box, click the folder containing the files
you want to delete, and then click View Files.
- Right-click the file you want to delete, and then click Delete.
If you want to delete multiple files, press and hold down the CTRL
key, click each file you want to delete, right-click one of the files
you selected, and then click Delete.
- If you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
- Close the folder window.
- Repeat steps 3-6 for each folder containing files you want to delete.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Plus! 98 Standard Edition

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
