PPT97: Color Text in Shaded Objects Doesn't Print to DeskJet 1600c
This article was previously published under Q190325
SYMPTOMS
If your slide contains a shaded object with text in any color besides
white, that text does not print to an Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet
1600c printer from Windows NT 4.0. The shaded object prints correctly,
but the text does not print.
RESOLUTION
Change the Print Text As Graphics setting in the HP DeskJet 1600c
printer driver. You must change the setting from within PowerPoint; the
setting is not accessible from Control Panel.
- On the File menu, click Print.
- From the Printers list, click HP DeskJet 1600c. Click Properties.
- In the HP DeskJet 1600c Document Properties dialog box, click the
Advanced tab.
- Scroll down until you see the Document Options icon. If there is a
plus sign to the left of the icon, click it.
- Click the Print Text As Graphics option.
- Click On.
- Click OK. This returns you to the Print dialog box.
- Print your presentation.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Standard Edition

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
