Prop of Notification Catalog Fails After Deletes Are Made
This article was previously published under Q188248
On a notification catalog, if an attempt is made to prop the catalog after
deletes have been made, the prop of the catalog fails.
A notification catalog is built by accepting information from a
notification source. This notification source is a software component that
monitors content and informs Search when content has changed.
The deletes are not being committed to the catalog.
To resolve this problem, apply the latest Site Server 3.0 service
pack.
To work around this problem, perform a full rebuild (crawl) of the
catalog.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Site Server
version 3.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S.
service pack for Microsoft Site Server version 3.0. For
information on obtaining the service pack, query on the following
word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
