Plus! 98: Cannot Use Architecture or Jazz Desktop Themes

SYMPTOMS
You cannot use either the Architecture or Jazz desktop themes included
in Microsoft Plus! 98 or their associated screen savers if the display
adapter installed in your computer does not support a High Color (16-bit)
palette.
In addition, you cannot preview either of these desktop themes or their
associated screen savers if your display adapter does not support a High
Color (16-bit) palette.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Plus! 98,
version 1.0.
