OFF97: Unable to Record Adding To Favorites in Open Dialog Box

SYMPTOMS
If you click Add To Favorites in the Open dialog box while recording a
macro, the program does not record this step.
CAUSE
The Open dialog box does not return the selection of Add to Favorites to
the macro recorder, so it is not recorded.
WORKAROUND

To add a file shortcut to the Favorites folder, you need to manually insert
one of the following statements into your recorded macro, where <file name>
is the name of the file you want to add.
Excel
Worksheets("<file name>").AddToFavorites
PowerPoint
Presentations("<file name>").AddToFavorites
Word
Documents("<file name>").AddToFavorites
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
