OFF97: Page Fault Using the Microsoft Web Browser Control

SYMPTOMS
When you use the Microsoft Web Browser control to navigate to another
document, you may receive one of the following error messages:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to the following
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at
0137:30442942.
-or-
WINWORD caused an invalid page fault in module WINWORD.EXE at
0137:3007fabc.
and the Microsoft Office component program quits.
-or-
Run-time error '-214767259 (80004005)':
Automation Error
CAUSE
This problem may occur when you are using the Microsoft Web Browser control
to navigate to another document of the same type (such as Microsoft Excel
workbook to Microsoft Excel workbook.)
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
