PRJ: Bar Text Not Visible in Print Preview or When Printed
This article was previously published under Q173166
SYMPTOMS
When you print or preview a Microsoft Project file, the bar text on the Gantt chart does not appear or appears incorrectly for the last task in the project if the
In front of task bars option is selected. For example, if you specify that the start date should appear to the left of the task bar, and then print or preview the file, the start date does not appear next to the last task in the project.
NOTE: To locate the
In front of task bars option, click
Timescale on the
Format menu, and then click the
Nonworking Time tab.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, turn off the
In front of task bars option. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Format menu, click Timescale.
- Click the Nonworking Time tab.
- Under Date, click to clear the In front of
task bars option.
- Click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Project 2000 Standard Edition
- Microsoft Project 98 Standard Edition

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
