PPT97: Template Animation Lost When Saving from PowerPoint 97
This article was previously published under Q162182
If you use one of the Presentation Design templates shipped with PowerPoint
97 that has custom animation applied to the master slide, and then save the
presentation in PowerPoint 95 or 4.0 format, the custom animation is lost.
The following templates shipped with PowerPoint 97 have Custom Animation
settings applied to the Master Slide:
- High Voltage
- Pulse
- Ribbons
- Whirlpool
PowerPoint 97 is the first version of PowerPoint to support animated
objects on the Slide Master.
PowerPoint 95 and PowerPoint 4.0 do not support custom animation on the
Slide Master. When you save a PowerPoint 97 presentation in PowerPoint 95
or PowerPoint 4.0, these effects are lost.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Standard Edition

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
