SYMPTOMS
When you launch a playlist (.lst) file which contains files created in
Microsoft PowerPoint 97, you may get the following error message:
Sorry, this type of file cannot be opened by PowerPoint Viewer
Back to the top
CAUSE
You are using the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer for Windows 95, which does
not recognize the PowerPoint 97 file format.

RESOLUTION
You can view a Microsoft PowerPoint 97 file in the 32-bit PowerPoint 7.0
Viewer if you save the file as a PowerPoint 95 & 97 file. You will loose
any effect that has been applied by a feature that is available in
PowerPoint 97 but is not available in PowerPoint 7.0.
You can also obtain Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97. This viewer supports
all PowerPoint 97 features excluding macros.

MORE INFORMATION
When you need to prepare a presentation for use on another computer, you
can package all of the files used in the presentation, including the
PowerPoint Viewer, by running the Pack and Go Wizard.
For more information about Pack and Go, search the Help Index for "Pack
and Go" or ask the Microsoft PowerPoint Office Assistant.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
