OFF: Title Bar Flashes Using Full Screen/Maximize
This article was previously published under Q130043
SYMPTOMS
The application title bar flashes quickly as the window is being maximized
or restored when you use the full screen feature, or when you maximize or
restore the application window. This occurs in the Microsoft Office
applications listed at the beginning of this article.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you do any of the following in a Microsoft
Office application:
- click Full Screen on the View menu
- click the Full Screen button on the Full Screen toolbar
- click the Maximize button on the application title bar
- click the Restore button on the application title bar
This behavior is caused by the way that windows are displayed in Microsoft
Windows 95. This problem is not specific to these individual applications;
it also occurs in other Windows applications.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
